Gents, we have recently lost a family friend who owned an old'ish Jag... It is i think a late series 1 XJ (my guess from looking at pics on ebay) It was probably bought new by him, I've known him to have owned it as far as i can remember back... It was decommissioned some 18 or so years ago and laid up in his heated garage (several steps were taken to preserve the car from ageing, wax, vaseline, oil, on blocks etc etc etc) as i would imagine he thought it would appreciate! The house is now being sold and no-one from his family is interested in this "old car" I know nothing about old Jags! I don't think its worth any great amount of money (as mint wedding cars seem to only fetch a couple of thousand when selling)
Do any of you knowledgable Jag fans know enough to point me A, down the identifying route & B, when identified, the valuation route?
The car is in wonderful condition (without digging deep) it was taken off the road in the nineties due to fuel/running costs and thats where its been ever since. Looks to be in near immaculate condition both inside and out. With most of the right steps taken to lay it up
I will be going to have a look on Sunday so any info on what i should look at would be appreciated?
