Can't see any problems with re-manufacturing torque convertors, quite a few companies do it.
Provided they offer a worth while guarantee should be fine.
You could even have your own TC re-manufactured.
When you have the TC changed have you considered getting the transmission oil cooler changed at the same time?
I understand that once the TC lock-up clutch friction ring fails you get metal to metal contact resulting in aluminium particles contaminating the oil which amongst other things collect in the oil-ways of the oil cooler significantly reducing transmission oil cooling capacity.
Worth a thought. Thumbs Up

Depends on how far gone your current one is.
If your doing that then I'd clean out the gearbox and spend the saved money on the uprated valve unit never mind the fluid itself costing a small fortune.

Clean out the cooler with Diesel back flushing it and then use petrol to flush the diesel out and leave it to evaporate Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
