Will cleared fault codes register again when in limp mode?

A few months ago my RR went into limp mode due to a transmission fault and I plugged in the IID tool to diagnose and clear faults to see if it made any difference. I forgot to write down the code (was sure it was linked to transmission) and now even though it is still in limp mode (as I save up for the work), the IID tool now shows no fault codes linked to the transmission.

If I take it into an transmission specialist, will they be able to find the old fault code or will the ECUs register it again so the mechanic can source what caused the limp mode or have I deleted it completely?

Any help greatly appreciated.
