Bodywork Repairs - Who says what's what? | |
Hi, can someone please enlighten me?
If a dealership has a damaged car in their possession that is in need of repair and sends it to their approved used bodyshop which is on a different site, should an estimator/engineer/inspector from the actual bodyshop not examine the car on arrival and determine what parts if any are in need of replace (instead of just proceeding to accept at face value, without further adieu, the fitting of parts sent to them with the damaged car)?
In short, cost aside, whose job is it to decide parts that need to be replaced, someone at the dealership or someone at the bodyshop (I would have thought the bodyshop)?
Thanks
