In front of drivers side wheel there is a small rad what's this for?

not sure about locations of things as you have not said which car its on, but sounds like an intercooler if its small and in a wheel arch!! Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

but if necessary will confirm again

its auxiliary coolant radiator to help exchange heat when "flooring" Twisted Evil Tdv8

Thanks for the info i confidently removed the hose and drained the coolant refitted the hose and added a jublie clip problem solved.
Just as i thought my troubles are over I notice oil around the top of the steering rack!
Presumably not normal?
