Well i went from Brembo's on the 4.2SC to the crap ones on the TDV8 and i could tell the difference braking on a daily basis without travelling at 130mph .... ==================================== "Open Mike Night " sounded like a lot of fun until i found out i was going to an Autopsy |

Are my Brembos crap (I have a TDV8) they seem OK. I only asked about depreciation now I'm getting paranoid again and my threads been hijacked to discuss brakes - doh! Geoff |

How exactly? As above, if the brakes can get to the tyres' limit of grip in a single stop you won't see a noticeable difference in retardation or stopping distance. Physics is physics. Pedal feel or effort? Modulation? |

I just found that the Brembo's had a better bite to them , and although the TDV8 normal brakes may be okay i found them to be wanting when braking possibly more pedal push required ( And this was on new front disc's and pads on the TDV8 ).

Feel and response to the pedal can make a big difference to driving impressions, but I bet if you did a 70-0 stop in both there'd barely be a measurable difference.

Anybody who has driven a 5.0 SC or a 4.4 Tdv8 with the 6 pot Brembo's will know the difference, its as simple as that.

Exactly - the benefit of big brakes is resistance to fade (overheating pads and/or fluid) via better heat transfer and thermal capacity. All they do is change kinetic energy into thermal energy. |

Well i drive all three variants on a weekly basis if not daily! And i personally think the non Brembo'd TDV8 brakes lack both feel and performance... Simples |
