I had a months free trial of sky movies and was told that as long as I cancelled before the end of the trial period, I wouldn't be charged. If not, it would be £16 a month extra.
I called them 3 days before and sure enough, the lady said there'd be no charge. So imagine my surprise this morning wen I see on my online banking statement, a charge of £59 instead of £43.
I called sky and was on the phone for 40 minutes trying to sort it out. The operator said it was sky's mistake but unfortunately, couldn't credit it back until next month. No way I said. He then tried to blame me for not reading my bill on the 11th of April where it apparently showed the new charge!
Undaunted, I continued and told them if it wasn't credited back in the next two days, to cancel it completely. He put me through to cancellations who authorised a credit of £16 within 3 days.
I wonder how many people overpay in this way, boosting Sky's bank account (with interest) for a month?
