Loose windscreen wiper

Lo Peeps

Am having problems with the passenger side windscreen wiper.
I will be the first to admit I am not good when it comes to things like this going wrong but each time it has happened it becomes loose again and yesterday while out it came loose again, tightened it up again and by the time I got home it was flapping about after only a short journey.
When tightening it up the one thing that really concerns me is over tightening it but what ever I am doing its not fixing the problem, a friend suggested using one of these nylon nuts on it but wasn’t keen on that idea as not sure if you should use a nut like that.
Every thing else on the wipers seems to be ok.
Sorry if my description isn’t that good but any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Dave

Have printed the information you have posted Stan , thanks you for that Thumbs Up as I am seeing my mechanic this afternoon and hopefully with that diagram he might be able to work out what is going wrong and get it fixed.
Nothing worse than having dodgy wipers in this weather Sad
Probably should of added the fact that the couple of times I have tightened it up it didn't stay where I had tightened it , it dropped down , nearly below the screen so probably done more harm by trying to fix it myself Embarassed

hmmmm Razz

I should of just left it alone really and got it to my mechanic , was a struggle just to try and tighten it up and after reading the information you have posted , if that is a locking nut I think it might be knackered but hopefully my mechanic can sort it out and maybe see if he can get my bosch battery to fit properly Laughing

Gotta take mine off soon as a stone has broken the deflector and connector where the blade attaches.

Thanks to my mechanic it is all fixed now and he used some lock tight on it .
Having the diagram from Stan really helped Thumbs Up
There are signs of wear on parts 6 and 7 and both plastic caps on each wiper need replacing but no big deal , am just chuffed that the wipers are all ok now Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

might go the whole hog are replace the wiper arms as at some point I think the bonnet must of been in access mode as there is a crease in the drivers wiper arm and looks like the only way it could of happened is the bonnet crushing it.

Mine has a nick in the plastic cover where it was badly fitted in the wrong position after a new screen was put in and caught
