Dreaded cam cover !!

Had a really poor day yesterday the weather was fine so decided to do the drivers side cam cover. Stripped it down okay, realised the dipstick was a pain to swing out of the way . stuck the gasket to the lids with a bit of silicone , then tried to manovere the cover into position !. The top most half moon was unsighted due to a plate on the back of the head, most of the top of the gasket was not really in view and the rest i tried to feel into place. Screwed it all back down started it up and hey presto torry canyon . Trouble is working outside and the weather has gone back to persisting it down . Hopeful that i can remedy this situation before i go back to work tuesday ! Big Cry Rolling with laughter

mmmm yeah read that after the event !. never mind ,also noted that the breather hose to the pcv valve has gone pappy again only renewed less than 12 months ago . Have to find a alternative in silicon or something . Anyone come up with a decent alternative ?

Great day today !!! went to Lambys in chesterfield ,picked up new cam cover gaskets . Got back and put it all back together !. Dodged the rain for a bit too.Had decided Friday to skutch cam cover up and repaint in silver smoothrite cos it was on the shelf, and i was bored !. So Saturday was good to me ,had visions of doing it Monday. Even got the grass cut !, went out on road test ,burnt the previous disasters oil off. Got back read packaging on silicon i used and found out it was only for bonding............gonna have to start reading the packaging !. Probably do the other alleged easy side some time in May, as work threatens, back on tuesday after my " HOLIDAY !
