False alarm acivations !!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all

I keep getting false alarm activations. This does not happen every day all the time but happens a lot . The experiences below instead of trying to write an essay
1/ every time I go to our office the alarm activates within 5 mins of parking, I reset and it does not do it again
2/ if parked for more than 12hrs alarm activates for short periods then switches off/ usually weekend
3/ alarm only goes off at certain clients premises happens 6/7 times now
Most of the times the alarm has activated I have been with eye of the car and no one is near it or driven past , does anyone have a clue.
I checked the battery status and its fine.

Another issue I have had a few times, is messages on dash when I stop saying check front light or side light but they are all working ok. I don’t know if this has anything to do with the alarm issue ?

Thinking about the issues could wifi be affecting the car at all ?

Regards

Ray

You could try setting the alarm without the interior protection and see what happens.
Should narrow the options down a bit.

I had problems with the alarm going off at random and it was the catch under the bonnet. I fixed it by sticking a self adhesive foot on the bonnet underside. A simple test is to disconnect the switch, I can't remember if you leave it open circuit or have to short it out. HTH Geoff

Is it possible you have a radio source causing the triggers?

I've heard of wireless systems like doorbells being the cause of random triggers.

Maybe the bonnet switch is marginal.......ie if the car is slightly unevenly parked?

Hi all

Many thanks for your advice. I disarmed the interior but the alarm still went off, so i disconected the bonnet switch and i have had no false alarm since. so looks like the it's the switch. I will glue a little spacer on the bonnet for now to see how it works. Many thanks all for your help Thumbs Up

As regards the side light warning messages, im still getting these, but all the bulbs are working ok.

Any ideas any one?

Regards
Ray

I used a self adhesive foot I had hanging around, worked a treat. I also "excercised" the switch and gave it a spray of switch cleaner. Geoff

re the lights Ray, its possible you have led bulbs fitted that are not canbus error free....if this is so then you could replace them with proper leds or get a diagnostic tool to switch off the error checks. ... - .- -.
