I love the thule system and the basket. Each to their own I guess but I wanted this exact look I do not like flat expedition style racks unless they are fully loaded Thumbs Up

Bow down
It just looks a bit small on that large flat roof of the D3, hence my comment cos its in the middle of the Disco roof.

When I had my D1 with a small ish ( not full length) roof rack traveling to morocco it was over the raised bit at the rear part of the roof, looked ok and was easy to access when on the door ladder Very Happy
How about a ladder for access to the roof and basket? they do look good on the D3 Thumbs Up If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

I understand.

The second pic (removed) makes the basket look in an odd position but from ground level its dead centre and looks good. Its too short to sit right at the back - that would look odd with the large wind deflector like a drag car!

The ladder is being delivered in the morning - its a work in progress Very Happy

I really like it Gary !!! The only thing I would do differently is put a full length, low sitting roof rack on. But like you said, each to their own. Plus the roof rack should have a big cover to keep the stuff clean when you are going bush of course Smile Can't have the luggage caked in mud and dust Smile

That is why I like the roof tents on these type of vehicles. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Exactly but you cannot drive about every day with a fully loaded/covered full length roof rack just for the look... Wink

I like it big time Very Happy
