Powerful Uk Upgrades

Hi all

Am after some advice. Payday tomorow and as i have had the FF 2010 converted i want to do some of the other bits.. Door handles, Mirror backs, Silver Steering wheel spokes, Black steering wheel badge, Mats, etc, etc "endless list" ... But im enjoying it so its worth it!

Im going to paint the steering wheel spokes, £9.99 black steering wheel badge, will look at paddle shift later date.

I see Powerful UK do the mirror covers and the door handles. As i have Maya Gold i'll have to paint them. I want the top half of the mirror painted and the bottom standard black. Would you say the standard Black is "Matt" or "Satin"? Powerful are saying Matt.

Also am i better off getting the cheaper Satin black handle covers and plastic prime etc, or get the light silver "painted" ones and just top coat them?

Sorry for obscure questions, just wondered if anyone has painted either of the covers before and how they went about it (what type they purchased) not the physical painting method.

Cheers

Tel, they usually do a "non painted" ABS set! For those of you that have "non standard fair colours" black silver & grey Rolling Eyes

We use them all the time and they paint really well, are cheaper than painted ones too Thumbs Up

If that does not work, drop Simon (the boss) an email and ask him if they have any returns/seconds available? Quite often they have sets with a hairline surface scratch they can not sell as good Thumbs Up

Is your car an early or late model? (filling in your car profile would help Whistle ) as the mirrors changed in 2005... Thumbs Up

Craig, would you go Matt or Satin mirror covers so that the bottom half matches original?

It would be great to see some photo's of an early gold car converted Thumbs Up

How does your steering wheel leather look? I decided to replace the full wheel as the leather was a bit worn and shiny Thumbs Up Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White
Gone: Range Rover 4.4 V8 Vogue, Zambezi Silver, Charcoal Oxford Leather
Also: Mk1 Audi TT 1.8T Quattro, Brilliant Black

I presume you are going for the 06 look mirror covers for the 04 model? If so, the lower black colour is a very good match Thumbs Up

Feel free to mention my name to Simon when you speak to him Thumbs Up

Hi Andy
To be honest I haven't got many pictures. I will take some and post them when I get my new wheels this weekend. I be honest I wasn't keen on the thought of a gold car with blue leather but fell in love when I see it. It's converted now and I think it looks real nice! Although I understand a lot of people arnt keen on the gold!

The car has done a lot of mileage. Yes I mean a lot! But 1 owner and has been really well looked after. Infancy it's close to immaculate inside and out. The steering wheel is in very good nick! Although I find it a bit "thin" compared to my old P38. I'd like to get a new one maybe the napa but that's for another pay day.

I'll sort a few pics Saturday but here's a few from when I got it, when put my old P38 wheels on and with the conversion done. Gives an idea

Cheers Craig.

Do you know if the Matt black version or the Satin black version of the mirror covers are closest to the gen? I seem to think the black trim on mine looks satin, but Powerful are saying Matt.

Cheers

Who did the conversion and what did it set you back?

I`ve got a 2002 4.4 V8. Only owned it a couple of months and really loving it. Wondering if I should spend £3k on a conversion or save a bit more and buy a 2007/8 ish car with the newer interor for around £15/16k in a year or so time.
