MY11 - Brake consumables and service items

All,

I need to change the brake pads and discs on a 4.4 TDV8 MY11 Vogue - has anyone got recommendations beyond the OEM LR (will purchase from Dan if this is the case)?

I also need to put together a box of anything to take with me that needs to be changed on this car frequently once it is in Kenya - as I'm a little bit of an idiot, would greatly appreciate more knowledgeable forum members' inputs of things I should take (e.g. oils, filters) and any recommendations for brands so I can order these in the next couple of weeks.
