No faults for last 2 years, it's bong time!

After spending a small fortune to get the old beast up to scratch, the inevitable bong "fuel injection system fault" has re-appeared again.
Found a new local indy, who will have Autologic within the next month or so, he just uses the IID tool at present. Fault listed as pressure sensor, which was replaced a couple of years back, so we are going for a little known part that was released as a fix for the TD4 engine first , before the bigger money gets thrown at it. The part is to replace the loom connector for the pressure sensor part number YNQ503220 , cheap enough at £40, so we shall see how this goes. Car runs perfect on light throttle, when asked to kickdown, immediate bong, then limp home mode! If this doesn't work, then either the high pressure pump, ouch or the 2 injectors that I was too tight to replace when the car was seriously unwell a couple of years back! Will update on progress...... Big Cry

It sounds like an injector issue, tbh. Embarassed Sorry.

We are in the process of adding the live values for the injectors on the TD6. Just a few more days...

Who is your indy? With the upcoming release of the IIDTool Pro he will have less for much, much more money with an Autologic (unless he services many different makes other than LR).

Cheers,

Hi Jim,

Nice bloke, used to work for Strathearn Engineering before going it alone, seems to know his stuff, although I am at the early diagnosis stage with mine. Will give more feedback as we progress, would be great to have someone closer to home that is trustworthy as I was fed up going to Auchterarder!

Then the battery light came on today, then kaput, wouldn't start! Magic, new alternator needed to add to my woes! Think it's maybe time to save for a replacement .
Although via my AA cover, think I may be covered for the repair, which would be nice.

So that's the alternator done, back on the road after driving a crv for the past week.
Full service including crank case breather, looked like it hadn't been changed in a long time if at all
Injection system fault fixed. Not an injector as it turns out, thank fook, mike replaced a part of the injection loom & disconnected the tuning box & all is well again for a wee while at least . Car sounds much better, didn't have time to fanny about reconnecting the tuning box so it was either both or one of them, I'll leave it off just now. Mibbe the fuel consumption will increase now!
