Rear seat belt replacement

The dog has eaten the two rear seat belts, why I don't know, but he has.

Has any one replaced theirs, my question is manly how do I remove all the trim with out damaging it.

Am I likely to need any special tools, ????? Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty, nothing else matters.

I'm interested too, my offside rear belt is a bit frayed... I bought a new replacement, but haven't summoned up the courage to do it yet!

Rear seat belt removal

Its a fairly easy job, the main thing to remember/do is to remove the upper trim first, the one where the seat belt comes out. It just pulls off.

Then the lower padded trim is held on by two small screws, remove and the just pull the trim up from its bottom locating lung.

The seat belt is held in by 3 Torx screws/bolts, be careful with the one holding the the actual seat belt mech. My bolt dropped into the inner panel and had to be retrieved using a magnet.

Whilst i was waiting the delivery of the new belts i filled this void with duck tape to prevent it falling so far.

Took me about 2 hrs to remove both belts as i was trying not to break anything but replacement only took 45 mins for both sides.

When replacing the upper panel you will need to locate 2 pins into the frame, its obvious when you see it

Hope this helps. Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty, nothing else matters.

The upper trim on my HSE has airbag written on it but when removed there was nothing behind it. Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty, nothing else matters.

When you have new seatbelts, you better put some pepper on them the first week.
