2007 TDV8 Alternator fail

Another one bites the dust. I'm pretty lucky getting to 82,000 miles. Most go at 60 odd. Fortunately I had just taken out the new extended warranty Thumbs Up

Even better the horrible whining noise started (actually got worse from a slight whining noise) when I was only a mile from the dealer. The burning smell was the giveaway. Checked the voltage and only 11.9v when running instead of 13.5+. Dropped it off and two days later all sorted at no expense Very Happy 2012 5.0L S/C

Yeah - having read all the horror stories on this site it was like waiting for the Sword of Damacles to drop. I was paranoid for months - including a trip to the Alps and back. Now waiting for the next issue - whine which is most likely from a diff. Been going on for months. The joys of RR ownership! Rolling Eyes 2012 5.0L S/C
