The bigger the wheel / smaller the sidewall = less comfortable. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

What a nice car! -Yours?
I’m not normally a fan of brown, but that looks really smart and as if it’s just driven out of a dealer showroon on its original wheels, very tasteful Thumbs Up

Thank you! Yes, mine. I really like the standard L322 facelift wheels, but the L405 ones have a much better offset IMO.

I’m considering some second hand L405 22” turbines for my 2012 L322. It’s currently on OEM R19’s. I’ve seen some “genuine” OEM one’s advertised; how do I check for welds or buckles ? Can this be done by eye or is special kit required ? TDV8 4.4 2012

Welds will be obvious BUT. Factory wheels don't tend to crack... Its the cheapo Chinese crap that cracks... Original JLR wheels have a dot matrix style part number inside the rim NOT inside the spokes as JLR used to do... I believe this was part of anti faking technologies employed by JLR... Thumbs Up

Thanks Craig, having read a bit more about 22” wheels on the L322 I think I’ve changed my mind. I don’t like a harsh ride so swapping to a lower profile tyre, even though I am rarely on any rough stuff, I don’t think will suit me.

For anyone who’s interested here are the set on eBay I was looking at : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195649675003?mk...media=COPY TDV8 4.4 2012

IMHO it made my 322 drive much nicer than squishy 20" wheels sir... And filled them arches up a little more Thumbs Up

I’ve just swapped from L405 22”s to original 20” wheels. The ride wasn’t bad at all on the 22”s, I’d say the lower speed ride was slightly more jiggly but that’s about it.

The sheer reduction in weight has made a big difference though!

I’m thinking these bigger sizes are going to compromise the magic carpet ride.
Must admit I thought the wheels on my 4.2 supercharged were a bit large! Certainly when you have to hump the spare into the boot!

I had 22's on my L322 and the ride was fine, you only really noticed the difference at low speeds. I did not notice a significant enhancement when I went back to standard wheels. Better, but not night and day
