Frog in the Pot Effect

I just had my car have a an early 75k oil service and mot. the car failed it's mot due to both front tyres being down to the carcass on the inner sides. all four tyres were less than a year old.
so four new tyres later and I took the car to a place for four wheel alignment. the toe in was wrong as you'd expect
it is now like a new and different car. I'd become accustomed to the steering wheel being off centre and having to hold a course on a straight line - all without thinking as it built up gradually
there's a lesson to be learnt here

Mine went out last year and I had it re-aligned pretty rapidly. No use dragging rubber around the place.

£100 is cheaper than 4 new tyres a year by my reckoning Smile

Nothing better than a Range that tracks nicely with zero adjustment required. Well worth regular alignment at least at every tyre change.

^ A proper 4 wheel alignment?

My tyre guy offered to do mine just by driving it and making an adjustment, but I told him no, I'd like it done properly.

proper 4 wheel alignment on something like a 'hunter' set up will cost around the £100 mark. ... - .- -.
