i use glipton and autoglym as both are great products and impart that leather smell.
BUT
do leather cream products it work if scothgaurd has been applied to the leather?
as scothgaurd is a repellent would it not repel the leather conditioning products? 2011 4.4 TdV8 Nara Bronze

Unless the Scotchguard has blocked the pores on the leather compleatly the conditioner will work in through the pores . It won't be nearly as good but I can't see it forming a total barier . 2008 MY Supercharged

You can't "feed" modern surface-coated leather, it's a fallacy.

You need to maintain moisture levels only. Oil or wax-based "conditioners" are a waste of time on surface-coated leather, they will just attract more dirt and thereby cause more wear.

I use a 'Car Plan Leather Connesuer kit (forgive the spelling, on nights this week so 'brain fitted for but not with' Rolling with laughter ) it has cleaner and leather cream, was autocar 'best buy' and does a good job, leaving a nice subtle smell of new leather when used. Thumbs Up

I have also used autoglym leather cleaner and cream before, abd found that good, although I think this car plan kit is marginally better (and better value) Very Happy 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)

France

Hi, guys & gals!
I haven’t been able to find any real conclusion to the argument, on this forum, as to whether the surface of the leather interior on our cars is sealed or not, and so as to whether or not it was possible to “feed” the leather to protect it.
So, can anyone in the know tell me how best to protect the ivory leather in my 2004 (2005 spec) TD6 HSE Auto? My car is left outside in the (very) hot sun, all day long, here in the South of France. I have absolutely no way of protecting it, apart from reflective screens on the windows. Even so, it gets very hot inside …
So far, no problem (although the usual plastic parts have blistered and peeled, and I have replaced them).
But I’m worried about the leather. I'm a believer in preventive maintenance … so can anyone give me any definitive pointers, please?
Thanks!
