Landrover Select Warranty Pointers

Gents just made a claim for new gearbox one assessor said it needed a double flush the second assessor said new gearbox in the middle cost for flush of 858 quid which was supposed to be paid by me according to Select Warranty.
They do not pay for any diagnostic work at all so be careful having said that the people I found most helpful are Brian the assessor who is an elderly gentleman with vast Landrover knowledge so if you can ask for him it will aid your cause and in the Technical Customer Services Dave (their is only one in the team) who is a remarkably fair individual and is very helpful and calls back when he says. I spoke with him when things got a bit wobbly on the claim and he has resolved all issues.
So once again it is not that one warranty company is better than others all down to people - funny that

Hope this helps

Your scenario is also a good example that might sway those sceptical about taking out this type of LR warranty due to the £3k single claim limit, given that your initial estimate for a new gearbox was circa £6k and the subsequent method that was applied to the actual costings for your new gearbox under warranty (e.g VAT and labour costings etc).

Good to hear your warranty is worth the paper it's written on.

Thumbs Up

To be honest it wasn't easy but once they agreed they really were on my side I suppose we were then on the same side and they wanted the work done at lowest possible price - led to believe there is circa 15 % discount off retail prices for the warranty company also the limit of 3000 plus vat it would appear can be changed ?? as this is now 3900 plus 858 so 4758 ??
Who knows

As mentioned before, I've never been let down by either the LR "Approved" or "Select" warranties and given the choice, wouldn't be without one or the other.

Thumbs Up
