I rather guess this is not the update that was expected, as it seems minor compared to previous suggestions. Probably unable to keep up with demand is a a significant driver.

If the only change to the infotainment is the in control, it still means it is slow, hard to use and behind the times. That was my biggest complaint and disappoints me as I wanted to get another car but hoped this change was coming. It really did drive me mad... Though not as bad as the knocking noise others have suffered.

The biggest issue though is Euro 6 emissions. They talk only of the sdv8 which from the figures is still only meeting Euro 5 emissions . The only way they can meet Eu 6 is via the hybrid of course. I am sure there are exceptions , but talk of this being the last days of the SDV8 I am sure are true, and this small modification of torque is probably to use up engines they have and stimulate demand for builds in the last months of this year. Talk of hybrid has gone quiet too, technical issues or maybe a need to phase in differently. The press release of August 2013 talked of orders from September last year . Indeed the figures quoted for Hydrid were 340 ps and 700 nm of torque, and a combined Nc NOx level just under Euro 6 levels. So this will be the power train that replaces the SDV8 as has been suggested. Though the battery weight of 140kg will blunt things as overall weight returns back to close to 2500 kg ...... I am guessing the SDV6 will require modification too.

In any case, I am not taking up an order until the engine situation becomes clearer, and will wait for a car build in 2015.

There is nothing here that was really worth the wait at all when those with "inside info" were calling for some sort of MY15 revolution. It just goes to show if you like the car there is really no point in waiting for MY updates with JLR as you can never be sure what or when anything is going to happen unless it is a new model or major refresh (when you can see the camouflaged cars going around beforehand). JLR are making it up as they go along at the moment and anything can change at any time. Just get the car and enjoy otherwise you will be waiting forever.

I've been waiting for news of the latest upgrades with great anticipation, this announcement is a bit of an anticlimax I must say, I don't really think enough of the things that people have been concerned about have been addressed in this issue and I think I will have to wait yet again before I dip my hand in the piggy bank to the tune of £100,000. Oh well Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Agueroooooooooo. 93-20
I swear you will never see anything like this ever again....watch it..drink it in.

Same here, very disappointed. Was hoping for something better engine and infotainment wise. I'll now probably see what the new Q7 is like

Been obvious for a while no revolution was happening I think.

As I understand it, existing models must meet Euro 6 from Jan 2015, so presume there is an SCR system.

Very disappointing, particularly as there are 'Exhaust Project Managers - 15MY' all over LinkedIn!

My take is that is using up SDV8 engines, and when it comes to 2015, the hybrid will replace it. I also expect on the current sdv6 changes to bring it in line with Eu 6. Landrover cannot keep up at the moment, and that is probably the reflection of why 15MY is not what was discussed originally. This is nothing more than 2 new colours and remapping of the sdv8.

I'm trying to get hold of the 'product brief' given to dealers to see the full extent of the changes. My guess there will also be a few 'enhancements' like removing standard options etc as there were last year!

I would think JLR will want to keep both Diesel engines limping on with minor revisions until they get their own new engines into production.

I for one will not be first in line for one of those. I have had enough of doing JLR's in-production development and testing with their active suspension Laughing . Best to wait a for at least a couple of years of production to pass before risking that one. Rolling with laughter

Looks like it's September 2015 for existing cars (i.e. type approved before September 2014).
