Been after a second hand drivers side rear lamp for mine for a while, mine got broken by a shopping trolley!!!

There are lots on eBay that have broken lenses like mine and people are still asking loads of money for them!!

Is there any way to repair them then?? can you get just the lens??

Or are they just trying ?? Pete

you can buy clear/amber/red lens sticky tape off ebay, cost is about £2.50 up..

or give the criag-meister a pm, he has an alladins cave full of stuff. ... - .- -.

I made a snorkel elbow for Craig and we did a deal for a rear light but he hasn't got any earlier ones in at the moment...

I did say I'd have a pair of 2012's

So I just look on ebay now and again to see if any cheap ones have gone on....

Mines not too bad, just a bit broken out at the top, all glued back in ok but it needs a new one....

just wondered if anyone could change the lens, as I say people are asking silly money for smashed up lights, what good are they?? Pete

replacing the lens would be pretty difficult as its bonded to the light unit and i think that craig had problems when he did his .. ... - .- -.

Washed my car the other week. and the offside rear lamp ended up with about 2" of water inside it. On investigation, the glue bond had gone for a couple of inches on the side nearest the tailgate.

Thought to myself, I'll take the lens off, and re-seal it with Silicone - WRONG

The glue they use, although some of it had managed to find its way out, really does stick, and you will break the lens if you try to remove it as the plastic is so brittle.

Filled my gap in the seal with superglue, and the water is no longer getting in.  2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)

It amazes me how thin the lens is for a , supposedly off road vehicle, it can't be much thicker than 1-2mm...

And the light guards look like there made of cheap children's toy plastic...

Wonder how hard it is to mould Perspex...

Just need a buck and an oven I guess...

The best stuff to use if your gonna try making a new lens is this stuff: Polyethyleneterephthalate Glycol (PETG) copolyester sheet.

I got some a while ago from Bay Plastics in Tyne and Wear (for another job I was doing), it can be hot and cold formed, cut drilled, etc., and is used in loads of applications.

There may be a supplier nearer to you of course, so the info is just to give you a heads-up. I've been thinking of getting another sheet myself, as I still have my damager rear light in the garage.
