So, it would appear that my far too ample frame has finished off the drivers side sidestep.

i have a feeling that these are not OE type steps Mark as the bracket should be in one piece with the step,

I've still got the pair that came off mine, they are originals, they are a bit rusty but only surface, still good and strong, took my not inconsiderable weight....

Well as they are no use, I sort of investigated removing the ones that are on, only to find I can't undo the bolt going into the chassis. The edges of it seem a bit corroded. Not sure how tight it is, as I can't get purchase with a socket or spanner.

I sheared the bolts off on one side (the inner ones). Was able to drill out the remaining stud, then drop a new bolt through the hole from inside the chassis boxing - LR provide suitable access holes. .
