have you still retained the heating element for the sprays?

No - so the plan is to sort something by winter, maybe see what heated options there are...

What I find is that because the washer jet pipes run along the bonnet grille, they get frozen unless I use a super strong mix. I do a fair amount of fast driving and I think this leads to a significant wind chill across the pipes. This section is also cut off from the engine bay as it's behind the firewall so gets no heat. I plan to lag the pipes with some of the foil backed foam or something fairly thin.

Ah interesting - I was pondering whether the pipes to the washer jets should be re-routed to receive more engine heat to help with that issue - I too suffered with frozen washer water pipes whilst on long, cold cross country motorway journeys this last winter.

Although, given the position of the washer water tank, it may need some additional heat too !

I think the tank is OK as long as there is anti-freeze in there, plus it sloshes about. But the pipes are so small they easily freeze I think. When they are frozen, the heated washer nozzles are academic really.

I have just fitted the BMW E63 washer jets and they work fine, they fit in the same hole (have to push them in) and the hoses need lengthening as the connectors on the new washer jets are straight down instead of a right angle. The BMW part number is: 61667054446

Each nozzle provided two jets onto the screen and two further fan sprays. The fan sprays tend to get blown around in strong winds but they are still better than the original ones (tested up to 90 MPH).

Apologies for getting an old tread going but did anyone ever get a definitive outcome with this, i too would love to have a fan spray rather than the old jets but until i found this tread by accident never thought it was possible.

Having searched the web it appears most of the BMW versions were in fact spray and as i have a 2002 L322 which is BMW based it should be easy to find the right fit, but there are many BMW options ?

I’ve just found on the Bay a pair of series 5 E60 2004-2009 but the water input is down not to the rear but the X3 or X5 jets look really close............has anyone actually fitted a spray option and if so what was fitted to help narrow the search
