MOT Time

Hi everyone,
my FFRR. Is due for its MOT on Monday and i was wondering if there is a correct procedure regarding the air suspension settings when they lift the vehicle and let the wheels hang down, i ask because after the first MOT i had done on it, i left the test center and had only got 200 yards up the road when i got various suspension fault warnings in the message center and the gong was going berserk, even had a warning for compass calibration error!!!!the most worrying was the vehicle will go into limp home mode due due to suspension faults, i got round this by fully raising/lowering the suspension a few cycles and turning the ignition on and off a few times, the next MOT [last years] was pretty much the same but with the addition of TRANSMISSION FAULT , TRACTION REDUCED, after coming out of the brake rollers,[a fault message that appears quite regularly now]although everything seems to be ok!!this year i would like to avoid the same happening again,so i thought i would use a different test station only to be told we dont touch land rovers "because of the grief with the suspension" so i'm stuck with the same garage again!! any help would be much appreciated guys!!! With the car on the lift you have to raise the car to off-road height (doors closed). The mot tester can then jack the car and get it off the jacks when the jacks are lowered.

When off the lift set the suspension to normal height. Thumbs Up

The number of times I have shown an mot tester how to do this. Very Happy

Your car shouldn't have had the brakes tested on rollers.

That is very worrying that an mot tester would put a permanent 4 wheel drive car on the rollers.
I would try harder at finding another mot station. Thumbs Up Previously..

Brake rollers on a permanent 4x4....... ouch. I'd ask before you take it in, to make sure their not going to put it on the rollers. SC 4.2, 2012 face lifted, 25K miles, 1 previous owner

Just out of interest how do the test the brakes if they can't on the rollers?

Noted that my testers didn't put either the disco, ff or hilux on the rollers, and wondered why, makes sense really! Must have been having an blonde day! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

They have a magic box!!
A Deccelerometer is used on a short drive. My car never even left the carpark. They put the brakes on and take a reading. Previously..
