19" or 20" alloys difference in ride quality..

Hi, can anyone please tell me if there is much difference between the ride quality between 19" and 20" alloys.

Which size do most people opt for?

The car is a TDV8 Vogue, Thanks

In my view.............

18s - Look a bit small on a big car. Ride quality is really good and ultimately, gearbox and suspension parts are under less strain.

19s - Still look a bit small on a big car. Ride a bit firmer but still comfortable. Probably the best overall combination in my view.

20s - Look in proportion with the car. Depending on the tyre profile you do get the odd thump on bad road surfaces.

22s - Admittedly often look good but they are just a bit harsh for me. It has been known for tooth fillings to fall out on the rough stuff.... Laughing

I am sure other will have another view! 2006 4.2 SC

Running 22s normally but on 19s now as too busy to get round to changing back after a muddy play out and 19s are far better ride. GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

Ive had 18's, 19's and 20's.

The 20's ride is best as it gives better cornering and control at speed I find. The 19's give the worst of both worlds, being neither confortable nor performance coping. the 18's were very good especially if going into fields, snow etc.

Have always had M&S tyres (mud and snow) which have coped with everything from a foot of snow to wet mud (even towed out a disco which had got stuck)
