Leaking Rims

Just had some new tyres fitted on the front wheels (255/55 19 Goodyear Wranglers) on our 2003 L322 and the front nearside is losing pressure.

Now, after a discussion tonight with the other half, its a case of 'the car is crap, lets get rid of it', anyone any ideas for a quick fix for this leak? I'm told that its the inner rim de-lacquering. As I live near to Devizes and we only have access to two tyre dealers, and cant really afford to have the car off the road for any period of time, would one of these 'instant tyre repair' kits seal the rims?

Alternatively, anyone got / know of someone flogging a set of 19" rims that are in good condition?

Thanks

make sure its not a crack in the rim itself and if you are sure thats ok then the tyre seal stuff will be ok.. ... - .- -.

When I have had similar problems I have asked the fitter to refit the tyre - usually they did not clean up the old rim properly. They have usually done this for free.

But as Stan says - tyre seal is prob quickest fix.

Put the spare on.......

Get the leaking wheel refurbished, and the tyre refitted. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Our tyre fitters down the road clean the rims up with a wire wheel attachment on an air drill if there is any sign of corrosion! Id take it back and ask them to do the job properly this time...

I must admit to being a bit surprised about this as,we have used this tyre dealers exclusively for years.
I have found a wheel refurbishers in Swindon who will take everything off, crack test , repaint to oem colour and 're lacquer. Waiting for a price for all 4 wheels

Thanks for the comments chaps!

Did you want your wheels refirbed before you fitted new tyres Paul? Doesn't make sense to have them done because the tyre fitters didn't do their job correctly sir!

Just my 2p worth sir Bow down
