What was your first car and memories

Sorry if this has been done before, couldnt find it on a search. As title suggests what was your first owned car,(not your mum/dads) something you paid for and memories.

Mine - Bright Orange Beetle 1300, BGB 628K, lovely car but I ruined it with spotlights , a side exhaust, stupid speakers,Golf GTI side stripes. and some engine mods.

And I shout at the Corsa chaps nowadays Rolling with laughter

1965 mini van, the one with the floor button start and long gear lever! My dad got it for £25 off a work ate and we spent a month or so rebuilding it completely, put in side windows, 5j steel wheels, bucket seats etc. it got creamed by a Dawsons Music van in Warrington, so ended up with a 1980 mini 1000, usual buckets, small steering wheel, 6" fibreglass whip aerial!

The first car that I brought was a 1960 Austin Seven Saloon, with a 997cc cooper engine, later changed for a 1380cc stage 2 cooper ! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

If it was anything like my old series 2A, I wouldn't want it back, way too many ball joints in the steering to go in a straight line for me! Very Happy Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I was 16 at the time and desperate for a car so I bought CUS 9B a 1964 Hillman Super Minx, cost me a fiver but there was no engine in it. Bought a second hand engine at the scrapyard and fitted it, then dad took the car into town and it stalled at every set of lights, turned out the 'new engine was burning as much oil as it was petrol Laughing Laughing

So I fitted a set of oil master rings and sold it for £65 and I bough my second car in time for getting my driving license, 103 KGD a 1963 Vauxhall Viva for the grand total of £20.00 Managed to keep this one for 10 months before rolling it to avoid hitting a stupid woman driver who crossed onto my side of the road

Next one cost me £115 for LMS 757F a 1967 Viva HB
Chopped the front lights and fitted twin lights from a Humber Super Snipe and grill from a Vauxhall Victor

This was my younger brother's Ford Pop that cost him £35 and it was immaculate
Where was that picture taken Mick?

Then at 19 years old I splashed out £650 for a Marina TC Coupe GGA 273N

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

Interesting Gary, I had a Triumph Herald 1250 as my first car after a year of riding motorbikes. A well restored one and I learned my first car repair and maintenance skills on it. Easiest car in the world to work on !!! Many cars after that.

Good memories apart from dumping my bag in the passenger footwell one morning and hearing SPLASH (filled with several centimeters of water due to leaking doorseal). Bad heating, wearing full winter gear and gloves inside in winter. Lots of drifting in the winter thanks to the rearwheel drive.

Sold it to be able to buy my next bike and a cheap car (Beetle). MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
