I've had a set of General Grabber ATs (note the newer version the AT not AT2) on the L322 virtually since I bought it. Done about 25k in them and they're wearing OK. They're decent enough on the road but I'm not a (complete) lunatic in terms of driving style. In terms of off-road ability I've been a bit non-plussed about them but then I have come from a Defender with a set of BFG MT KM/2 in 265/75R16 (prior to that nothing but BFG A/T).
I wish I could find some tyres to fit the L322 that had slightly stronger sidewalls. Unfortunately since they're so low profile manufacturers don't because it'll compromise the ride. Honestly I'd sacrifice a bit of comfort for stronger tyres, after all how much more uncomfortable can it be compared to a 20 year old Defender with HD springs and mud terrains?
Don't let it put you off though - I was rather naively hoping for something a bit more comparable to the BFGs in terms of wear and durability. (I've never had below 75k out of a set of those and those that were replaced were because they looked tired rather than had run out of tread).
Andy Sargent at AJS Tyres in Reigate is well worth a shout (site sponsor too). Ed
