Copper grease or Dry?

What is the consensus of putting a smear of copper grease on the rears of brake pads when changing nowadays?

I thought you should always grease up before inserting?

some pads have a hard gell type compound on the back of the pads and these generally dont need CG, but its best to put some CG on the back and end tips of normal ones. ... - .- -.

Wealey, without need for a poll this thread should hopefully answer your question including the learned view of Cam Tech Craig:
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic16451....ads+grease

"... a long punch to knock out the pins, clean and copper grease the spring and pins, pull out one brake pad only! push back the 2 pistons on that side, ** copper grease the rear of the pad** and slide it in... Repeat with the 2nd pad, slide the first pin back in and tap home with a hammer and punch, refit the spring and slide in the second pin... "

Thumbs Up
