I think you can just replace the filter part, though you can replace the whole unit if you prefer.

The part number I have is BMW 11127799224

For the filter only, its BMW part number 11127799367 "Oil Seperator"

Don't think there is anything to do with the tdv8, the breathers in question were on the Bmw engined cars, the tdv8 is a ford/pag engine  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
