My car came up with the oil inspection indicator so I tried Les Paul in Woodford Green. I choose them based on reviews on a some Jaguar forums about them being quite thorough. Overall the experience was pretty good. Price was £313 for Inspection 1 or Oil Inspection. Service was pretty decent. That was about £115 less than the local dealer for an oil inspection and £217 cheaper than Inspection 1. The only sad part was when they told me I will need new rear tyres, and brake discs/pads all round (pads down to 90%).

I used them when I first got my L322 a couple of years ago. I had been told they were meant to be ex Jag Land Rover mechanics and that they get a discount on parts. They changed my discs and brakes and it cost a whopping £900! I would never go back to them again. After this I used Essex 4x4 and found them to be much more competitive and friendly. Tom

Well I've just had a call back on mine which i dropped of to them this morning.

I tried to throw several faults at them that typicall paranoid, little ole me, was thinking may have popped up... nothing.
The only additional expense they offered was some fuel treatment which we both agreed is something I could buy myself and drop in with a tank full.

All in all...... nice, simple and efficient. I can't complain and I would recommend

They quoted £500 for gearbox oil and filter !!??

I am trying to get a price out of Stratstone main stealer, and she won't give me a straight answer, as computer
Telling her £349. Which surely is an inspection 1 ?

I would say always ring round main dealers - there are 3 within 25 miles of me and their prices for the oil service varied by circa £50.

I obviously used the one nearest to me (Guy Salmon, Sheffield), but had to get them to price match to the cheapest

If I'd used the Indy who looks after my Defender for the service and MOT, I would have saved £150 - just felt at this age, it might be worth having a main dealer history for future re-sale value.

Reality is that I have more trust and faith in my Indy than the main dealer, but it's the perception of a future buyer that was in my mind - not sure whether it will go to the main dealer next year, as the RR is a year older and worth several thousand pounds less.

I use an indy now.
