the headache is trimming the wires to feed in at the correct length, ie giving the wires a trim, but not too long, else the outer sheath hangs out the plug etc. you COULD buy a ready made 13 pin converter, and cut it and solder each connection in line further down, (easier) and heat shrink each one, taping up after, your plug is already made up, correctly..

Thanks guys,

just thinking about this and I forgot I have a power adaptor to convert 12v to mains so could use the soldering iron on site anyway Embarassed

dont forget silicone is a semi-conductor and the one that smells like vinegar is also corrosive to electrical components

+1 I have seen the corrosion silicone does - it rusted clean through a steel diesel pipe which was bedded in the stuff! 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
