RRSC - Michelin Latitude Sport - 255/55 R20

Hi All,

I have the chance to buy 4 x Michelin Latitude Sport 255/55 20s at a very good price - They came off a friend's RRS L494 with delivery mileage. I am mindful that my original tyres are 255/50 20 though.....

So I understand that the 55 profile is slightly higher and the speedo will be c. 3% out but do any of you have any other comments surrounding handling / balance, generally upsetting the car's set up.

I would like to buy them for my 06 RRSC but obviously not at the risk of upsetting the vehicle and / or making anything unsafe.

As ever, all comments welcome! Thumbs Up 2006 4.2 SC

Thank you, Stan! Thumbs Up

The fact that LR are using 55s (instead of 50s) on the new products perhaps indiciates a view that the overall ride / handling combo is a good overall fit.

I think I will go for them on that basis. I will report back. Thumbs Up 2006 4.2 SC

I had the 4 x 255/55/20 Michelins fitted yesterday. It rides really nicely.

I am mindful that my spare is still 255/50/20 though. Based on the data below can I use this in an emergency or will I wind the diff up?

I'm a bit anal about these things, but I'd have to have a matching spare

That said, I'd be OK with something like this

Thanks chaps, I will source a part worn. I just wanted to check the situation for the very short term here and now! Thumbs Up

I remember the VW Sycro's of old (albeit different mechanicals) would, over time, wind themselves up and explode even with the extra few mm of a new tyre. Shocked 2006 4.2 SC
