Look on the bright side, it's one less thing to go wrong!
My boss has a Merc 350SL with a self-closing boot, it went wrong recently and wouldn't close properly. It cost him £650.00 to fix it! Shocked

Locks asside, I compared the electric tailgate rams from the evoque for the l322 top opening.
They are too big diameter wise to fit into the rain channel down both sides of the opening. Too many toys, not enough time

Never understood the point of electric tailgates. Needless complexity and cost. Where do you stop - electrically opening doors?

One of the many, many things that makes the L322 superior to the 405 IMHO. Along with touchscreens, profile, etc etc

^ Why not have wind up windows then? Oh and no PAS or AC for that matter! It’s called progression sir!

If you want less to go wrong why not drive a 1984 Mercedes 230E??? 🙄

My doors soft close , have to pull a bloody lever to open them though Very Happy for myself the L322 is a better looking machine than the L405 but the L405 is better in some ways for sure and the tailgate being electric is one if them imho. If your carrying something and are you are able to open the boot remotely then it makes it easier , not vital but easier. 2015 4.4 AB
