BEWARE!!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-DISCOVERY-3...339f527e9f

Look at the pics and see if you can spot what is wrong !

Clue. engine management light is on. When contacted, seller replied that is a ' characteristic " of LPG on these vehicles... NO IT"S NOT .

My mate fits lpg systems and is certified to inspect them and add them to the lpg register. He told seller that he could damage the cats and the valves running it with the light on but to no avail. Also a nice bit in the description that made me laugh.." You will never have any expensive cam belts to do as the V8 engine has a cam chain "
Tell that to my other mate with the 2004 FFR who has just has his cam chain snap at 105,000 miles and is now facing a bill of nearly £5 grand due to valve and piston damage. If you are ever offered an LPG converted FFR or V8 Disco with the engine management light on then run a mile. Done 40,000 in two years in my lpg 2003 FFR and it's been great. Light came on once and quickly diagnosed as a pre cat lambda sensor. Changed and problem sorted.

Any engine run with the lpg system set up incorrectly will fail prematurely. As for being a different V8, no one should be claiming that a timing chain is infallible , what ever engine they are talking about.

I've bought a car and a motorcycle off ebay. Both transactions were completely fine, and I still have both vehicles.

There are some sharks around there though.

His engine is already in bits and has been for the last 3 weeks ! If only we'd seen your ad earlier.
