Introducing the replacement !

We had originally decided to get a 2nd car. Almost pulled the trigger on a lovely C70 with Dynaudio , due to view & collect. In the meantime we had issues with the 2002 full fat which cost just under£1k over 2 weeks. This was the straw which broke the camels back.
So after some incredible man maths , it was decreed that we should just replace the 2002 with something a lot newer. Having thought about colour , we didn't want another black one, complete ball ache to keep clean , what with machine polish then2 weeks later you see spiders webs appearing again.
So the car we found was really close, only just over 500 miles away in Essex FFS! Only worry was would the old girl make it that far? Since getting the car "fixed" the trio of hdc, air Susp. Inactive etc were appearing on the dash after 20 miles , but would reset after a half hour switch off, so as long as we parked up for long enough , we should be jolly .

So we set off last Friday aiming for Huntingdon , all went very well running great , good fuel consumption .got tipsy with the wife's auntie on the Friday then headed off early for Essex , couldn't sleep a wink the night before, rather anxious about the trade in etc. then we get 15 miles from the garage then BONG. , fuel injection system fault flashes up with limp home throttle. Give me a break!
Pulls up at the garage , thankfully the salesman is running late so we have to park up for over an hour, result, should give the old girl time to re-set! Which it did thank fook!

And we picked up this, which is after 6 hours of correction today :

And then she looked like this :

Complete ball ache of a journey home , but well worth it , the difference is completely night& day , so much faster / quieter / smoother , it's the 1st TDV8 I'd ever driven , what a car!

Forgot to mention that the old car has gone to trade, the guy who took it intends to do an L405 conversion on it! Shocked
Should be interesting !

Seriously don't understand why people use the worst examples to do this kind of work! (no offence meant Mr T) if your going to convert the car with any amount of authenticity about it then your going to spend upwards of £30k so why not use a decent donor to start with Whistle Whistle Whistle Rolling Eyes Embarassed

IMHO it would make more sense to use a vehicle like your new one! As you said, fast, quiet & in beautiful condition... No brainer Whistle Rolling Eyes
