Mouse Traps

Righto, SWMBO found evidence in a couple of cupboards, so need to get sorted. So from the collective, what works best to get rid of them, we do have a cat, but he obviously can't be arsed!

poison means they die somewhere you cant see, but you might smell later. also chances of cat/dog eating it.
we had a few since next door got pet rabbits. I bought a pair of plastic snap traps. like these around £5
they kill instantly. I used peanut butter. place next to edges of room. if you have kids, get up early to check/reset, and say, 'no signs, he's gone away now'
if you want to keep catching the same mouse, and telling it off, and letting it go, buy they humane ones. they just make you uneasy and there's lots of discussion along the lines of 'no, you do it!'
and squeaking etc. sometimes from the mouse itself...

sometimes they get real lucky though.......

Hi Mr Tee,

You need a couple of these :-

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Procter-Pest-Stop-...ouse+traps

Use Peanut Butter as bait and your problem will be short lived! Had a problem a couple of years back and these managed to kill around 7 of the little blighters.

Also have a cat that can't be arsed Laughing

12 bore. Thumbs Up

or, if you prefer your walls & cupboards without large holes in them the plastic springy traps work well. The rat version is very good too as it has a little trigger plate which you can melt a wee bit of chocolate on to. Saves the bait getting stolen without springing the trap.

Ha ha 12 bore! Rolling with laughter Would be like something from Tom & Jerry! So it look like no bait boxes, good old fashioned traps, was just speaking to someone who recommended mars bars as a great bait.

Thumbs Up another for the chocolate, I used kitkats when we had an issue. Just don't use poison as they die in the walls....or in your cornflakes packet! If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Yep, agree. I used the poison ones with some success before, but recently had a mouse and it ate the poison, but did indeed die elsewhere.......

Still haven't found him! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If you know someone that works for Rentakill or give them a call they have traps that allow the mouse in, snaps a door shut trapping them and a gas cannister goes off basically putting them to sleep, permanently, we had this a few yrs back, got 5 of them in the end, they were coming from under the floor, never had it since.... Semper in merda sumus, solum altum variat !!

Traps were behind the kitchen plinth, so nowhere for him to go......solid floor, no way in or out???? Gotta be in there somewhere. Would have thought that it would kill them pretty quickly so he shouldn't have travelled far! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
