Hi, guys!
I want to run a co-ax cable from inside the top tailgate to the Head Unit screen to retro-fit a reversing camera and connect it to the main SatNav/Radio/Info display (2005 L322, LHD, touch-screen; I have a IId tool to enable the input).
Can anyone offer advice on the best/easiest routing for the cable? What conduits can be used and what trim needs to be removed?
I’ve searched the posts here but I haven’t found any detailed info on the routing, so if anyone has done something similar and can offer advice, I’d be very grateful.  It's "bébéchoon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.

Seeing as you will have to drop the back of the headlining to get it into the tailgate, I'd take the whole thing out and then run it that way and down a front pillar... not as daunting as it sounds, it's a pretty easy job.. just keep your hands clean as it's easy to mark.... Pete

i run my dash cam cable down the side of the front pillar and into the glove box fuses.

There's a video somewhere on the PowerfulUK site for taking the vent out to get the cable through, but I guess if you're cabling into the head unit, then you have that covered already......

Fibreglass cable rods are very helpful for jobs like this

Having read, on this forum, about the jobs you are happy to undertake (gearboxes and the like), I feel that your idea of a “pretty easy job” and mine do not quite coincide!
Having looked in the workshop manual to see what’s involved, I may prefer to try to poke a wire through a hole or a space it’s not intended for …
However, I’ll have a look at the headlining as a possibility. Maybe it’ll be the simpler option.

Don't you need to connect it up to the video module in the rear left cubby? (then run cable back from gear lever)

Getting out of the tailgate to the cabin is a toughy. There doesn't appear to be enough room to get any type of cable through the two existing rubber hose links.

I gave up and simply allowed the cable to loop from out of the top of the tailgate into a pre-existing hole in the headlining (made by previous owner) then worked the cable back to the cubby. You don't really notice it because of the bump created by the rear wiper motor. .

Yes, the dash cover has to come off to access the back of the head unit, and that involves removing the vents, I believe.

I may well be mistaken, but I think your reference to the video module in the rear left cubby relates to non-touch screen models. (I’m sure others will correct me if I’m wrong.)

This only confirms the need to do things in the boot cubby, nothing up front mentioned here ? Not that i don't believe you, as I only have non touch screen, just seeking to save you some effort/trouble!  .
