Auto Headlight Sensor

Hello,

Does anyone know the exact position of the headlight sensor.

I have had a couple of occasions over the last few days where the headlights have not come on automatically. As soon as I set the switch to turn them on manually, then they come straight on and if I then turn the switch back to auto they stay on till I turn the ignition off or till it does get light enough for the sensors to switch them off.

I am wondering if the sensor has just been covered by a film of salt spray which is corrupting its ability to sense and wanted to check I had cleaned the correct area.

Many thanks,

Hi Dean,

Its just behind the rear view mirror , plastic trim just unclips - It's also the same sensor for the auto wipers.

Cheers

Along with the lights, the Auto Wipers had also not been working.

Finally pulled my finger out and ordered a new sensor from Dan @ Duckworths (great price and arrived next day).

As suggested, unclip the housing behind the rear view mirror, unclipped the wires and lifted the 2 tabs to remove the sensors from the holder "glued" to the windscreen. Straight fit of new sensor. Whole job took less than 5 minutes and done in suit and tie.

Auto lights and wipers now working again - yeeha!!! 2006 FFRR TDV8 Vogue

I have learnt already, even with just a few months of ownership - show your Range Rover respect and it will respect you.
