I picked mine up today Thumbs Up

240 miles there in my old 3.6 TDV8 - remapped & I thought it was quite lively
240 miles back in an SDV8 and I'm certainly impressed - better in every way IMHO

Thumbs Up I generally keep them 4 or 5 years - so exciting times for me

New wheels, remove the side steps & change the fins are all on my todo (and shopping) list now

The auto steps are sh*t and dangerous.
The "door vents" look sh*t

Its a personal thing but I think they have the potential to cause twisted ankles and trip falls getting out. I assume they could be disabled?
Car goe sback tomorrow so I don't care Yawn

Well I have used them for almost three years without any problems or even the threat of any so I think your post may be a little on the over reaction to nothing side. Very Happy Agueroooooooooo. 93-20

Door vents do luck a bit 'erm, crap, but that's personal taste. I was going to get side steps, but there's really no need. With it lowered it's easy to get in and out. I'm 5'8, with very short legs, and she's 5'4. No problems at all.

Side steps are a must and they're not dangerous. My father is disabled and it is a big help getting him in the car. I can't see them as being dangerous. Land Rover would not fit them if they thought they were.
Door vents do look crap because they're fake and a bit aftermarket but you can get them colour coded, it is just a choice when ordering. I think they look good when in the same colour.
L322 looks classier and more "old money" but L405 drives so much better you'll want one as soon as you drive it. I know: I did and bought one but a client/friend bought my old one and I often see it and sometimes drive it. It still looks fabulous but not so good to drive, especially on the twisty bits.

Side steps - not dangerous, just painful. In 24 hours, I've had a nice slap on the back of my right calf as I tried to get out before it had deployed. My wife toot a good smack to the shin as she opened a door and stepped forward to put something on the passenger seat. I must figure out how to disable them until I can get them removed.

Fins are personal taste - mine has them in titan, I don't really mind them, but my wife wants them colour coded - not a huge problem as they appear to be a push fit.

Apparently should easy to remove - according to Stan Wink

I've worked out how to disable them for now

I will look into what it takes to fit - I think the steps themselves are straightforward, but there's a dash switch and an ECU involved somewhere that may require more than crawling underneath with a spanner.....
