So you put as much in as you could, then drove to the shop before returning to the petrol station and put another 30 litres in. So just to clarify (because you're in Australia and work on a different scale map down there) How far away is the shop? It's not like half a day's drive there and back is it? ![]() |

My guess is the floater at the end of the arm is leaking/porous and soaking up/filling up with petrol. That makes it heavier so it is no longer floating on top of the petrol but actually below the surface.
