It’s possible mine has a different fault then.
The pictures are missing, so it’s hard to visualise what he’s describing without that.

Mine has no siding action at all.
Without being familiar with what it should look like, I suspect something maybe be missing/ broken off. As I cannot see any kind of mechanism that would spring load it to come out. In the way I assume it should. 2007 L322 TDV8 3.6 Vogue SE

Yep, cog is gone and also the spring that ejects it from what I can see...

Get one off eBay or a new one is £100 if you can get one..!! Pete

Ok, thanks for clarifying. I thought they must be something missing, otherwise I likely could have worked out a fix.
These seem to be comparing £47-£80 in the UK online now? I was optimistically hoping it may be repairable as others say they have done, but it’s not to be.
So I will probably leave it, with other priorities to attend to on the car.
Thanks for clarifying for me.

Is there a way to get the OP pictures back up? That will help others. 2007 L322 TDV8 3.6 Vogue SE

Apparently still available new from LR in the UK. But a less Palatable cost for something that will get very little use on my car.

The only other long shot is to cannibalise parts off another unit, to use on it. Maybe BMW?
We’ll see, it’s dropped down the list at the moment. 2007 L322 TDV8 3.6 Vogue SE
