Don't let them tailgate you

So after Toyota and Honda's big recalls now it's BMW's turn - just make sure that the V8/V12 engined 5,6or7series you have just overtaken doesn't get too close behind as 11,000 of them are being recalled for a serious brake fault Shocked
The recall also applies to Rolls Royces with BMW V12's built between 2002 and 2007. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

L322 brakes are 100% BMW but LR would only issue a recall after a few deaths I'm sure.

Question Neutral

Is there a definative list published by BMW which shows the L322 isn't affected by this recall - considering their involvement with its development ?

The only reason I'm not worried is because the X5 isn't listed under the recall. The front and rear subframes plus associated bits are off the X5 with only minor adjustments.

L322 Range Rover doesn't have the same engine as 5,6 or 7 Series V8's does it, they were 4.8's IIRC - also only 11000 cars including all Rolls Royces are included that wouldn't be enough cars if all V8 Range Rovers were included would it? 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Erm. Yes.

The 4.4 BMW M62 engine is the BMW Engine of choice in the 5 series, 7 series and X5. Also the Morgan Aero.

Our engine comes in a 3.5, 4.4, 4.6 and 4.9 varient.

There hasn't been any mention of Range Rovers or Morgans made in the press, maybe there is some modification made to the LR versions to make it more suited to offroad use that means that RR's don't have the braking problem. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I didn't say there has been. You wanted to categorise them by their engine though. Which has little bearing on their brakes.

You said they didn't share engines, I was just saying that they do. I didn't sat that because they have the same engine they will share the fault.

As I said, as long as the X5 isn't recalled then we will be OK.
