Getting it on my incoming 15 model RR.

Apps are a waste of time - the selection is poor, wifi might be handy but then its only 3G- could have stumped for a 4G model.

They're bringing in slight revisions for the 16 model as well but again nothing major, will have to wait for 17 model before they properly integrate the newer Incontrol system from the new XE/XF I guess.

Have to agree that they are a waste of time. BMW's vehicles several years old, costing half the price have more functionality, roll on MY2017

I don't think we're missing anything worth having with InControl Whistle

in control

hi all
I can 100% confirm the apps are the biggest waste of time ever !
gutted I wasted £300 on them !
really annoying when they launch this some two years ago and have added exactly 0 apps since it was launched !
I have installed apps as
calendar (of no real use in the car)
contacts (which come up anyway, so no need for this !)
Music (again comes up anyway just slightly smarter interface)
parkopedia which only works on premium app, which I have paid the £1 and still can't get the car to understand I have upgraded the app to the premium version !

the other not installed apps are so ridiculous it annoys me writing this !
how about :
Sygic (a sat nav app !, I have sat nav already!)
stitcher (some weird usa radio app!) sounds like a dating app !, I have a radio & dab in my car !
cityseeker (a out of date app to tell u about attractions in the city u in !)
eventseeker (a usa ticketmaster type app !!, I really need that in my car!!)
hotelseeker ! a usa based hotel booking app , vaguely useful.
"news on board" a American based news app
newsplay - us based news app !
audio books - possibly quite good if you wish to be read books whilst driving - not really my thing
rivet radio !! - usa radio station !

so basically a total load of rubbish, I find it hard to understand how LR can charge me £300 and get away with it !
rant over !!

Interested to hear if anyone knows whether after two years there is any probability of any new apps coming out !
my car is a 15.5 which I got in march and is now out of date with a 16MY in 8 weeks !!! lovely !!
with a new premium updated in control remote ! which mine won't do ! arghhhhhhhhhhhh

As above, the InControl Touch Pro with the bigger screen looks like it might finally offer what the competition does. New XF has a configurable TFT dash display - expect that will be in the Range Rover at some point soon too.

Only a matter of time until they use another buzz word; 'cloud' in their sales pitch.
The marketing bum holes will then start convincing gullible buyers it's worth every penny Rolling with laughter

I wonder what other information is being transmitted and stored? There are a suite of eco statistics shown in the vehicle from the on board telematics. I wonder if this data could be used against you in a warranty claim?
