Hi Guys latest update is that he will repair the box within the warranty but he has said when the car is taken away if it fails again not to bring it back as he will not repair it again. He has said that she can take him to court as he has all the receipts for the parts he has changed. What worries me is if he uses the same torque that has a crack in the shaft that it will fail quickly just so he can get it running.I dont know if i should get him to leave the box out so i can have it checked by another specialist. He said he phoned mackies in Glasgow and they were supposed to have told him that they would not have done any work on it if the car had engine and headlight faults
Thanks

I'd personally let him do it. I would also be very clear that if anything fails that is directly related within a reasonable amount of time that you will be back. He can say he's not going to fix it again all he likes but under the Sale of Goods Act you need to get what you paid for and it needs to last a "reasonable" amount of time.

Keep all paperwork, correspondence and anything relevant. Anything he says get it out it writing. If it does end up in court they don't take kindly to people who ignore the principles of SOGA.

Good luck whatever you decide. Thumbs Up 2006 4.2 SC
