So.... We were looking at it last night, and we decided just to drop the whole lot out the bottom, was going to be easier than splitting the box and engine, and much less of a fight to remove the turbos. Found out it is the drivers side turbo that has eaten itself, so they will both be off to the midlands on monday |

Any thoughts on what caused them to fail? ______________________________

Out of interest, What leads you to believe they are both broken? |

I believe both, as one the exhaust housing is full of oil, so that there is a pool of it sitting in the bottom of the turbo. And the other turbo, the impeller shaft has oooodles of play, and the intake housing is full of oil. More so than the other side.

So a seal failure or shaft wear, or both? Are they able to be refurbed?

I'm not sure what's caused it to be honest, think it wasnt short of oil. Could be wear, and one was leaking, then when the other gave out it had nothing?
