I thought they were DRL's on a 2010+ MY.. I have thought about the same thing, as I have an '07 facelifted.. Somewhere in the menu, see if there's anything in the 753 hack menu??.. (I don't know what's in the 2010+ menus)

On a sidetrack, my friends Merc E class has DRL's, but they only run when he turns lights on, or has it on Auto.. If he actively turns the light off, the DRL goes out too.. Also, he has an option to turn them out in the settings, that's why I suggest 753.

Oh, forgot to add, the 753 can also tell you about your ambient light sensor for the auto lights setting. There should be significant voltage difference between light and darkness..

I put mine on using the iid, to be honest its not worth it, they are not bright enough to see.

Steve You remind me of a young me, not much younger mind, perhaps even a little older!

The dealer workshop can switch them on as DLRs through the computer - had it done on my last one and they will be doing it on my new one in a few weeks time. 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

There's plenty of videos on YouTube on how to get into the menu. I can share the '07 way, but I don't know if it'll be slightly different on the 2010+MY.

With the ignition on, put the ICE onto the TV. When the TV is on, press the home soft key in the corner to take you back to the home menu. Then put your finger right in the middle at the top of the screen and hold it there for 5-6 seconds. After this, hold the navigation hard key for 5 seconds. If done correctly, a keypad will appear on the screen. Press 753 and enter, this brings up a basic self diagnosis system and information about your car.

If there's a way to turn on the DRL's without plugging anything into the OBD, it'll be in there. Also, one of the options (can't remember which one) will give you a voltage reading for your ambient lighting sensor. The sensor is in the rear view mirror, and yes the headlights shouldn't illuminate in the daytime. Throw a towel over the windscreen to cover it, then shine some bright light on it, the voltage should change, if it doesn't, might need changing.

Oh, you can't break anything in there, so don't worry. Thumbs Up

Other codes can be put in the keypad screen, but I don't know what they are or what they might do.
