There has been lots of press comment about the vulnerability of Range Rovers to keyless car theft. Just by breaking a window, a thief can gain access to the OBD2 port, and with the right equipment, drive the car away. I know that some owners who live in vulnerable areas have been using other physical barriers like Disklock. It seems to me that the obvious solution is to remove the fuse for the diagnostic port (fuse65 I think). It can always be replaced when needed, Has anyone tried this? 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4

The fuse is actually no 66 in the passenger compartment (see page 238 of the owners manual), 5 amp, colour tan, circuit protected: diagnostic socket. The reason I know is that when I first got the car, the dealer could not connect diagnostics via the OB2 port, only to discover that the previous owner (presumably) had pulled fuse 66. Seems like an easy solution to the keyless theft problem. 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4

Just playing devil's advocate here, but IF your thief is willing to smash a window, and have the key cloning kit and blank key with him, is carrying an extra 5 amp fuse that much more hassle? This type of thief isn't the impulsive, opportunity type. He is coming prepared and know what he wants.

That is a fair point, and if you live in London with your car parked in the street it may not be enough. The thief still has to know where to find the fusebox, and be prepared to fiddle around in a vehicle with a broken window and maybe the alarm sounding. To make life more difficulty for him fit a blown fuse in 66. 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4
