Front parking sensors

One of the things I find annoying on the RR is the front sensors don't come on automatically. What I mean by that, is you seem to have to manually turn on the sensors - on my Mercedes they're on all the time which is far better. Is there a setting to permanently turn on the front sensors?[/i]

if its the same as the L322 then no , you have to engage reverse first or select it manually..basically this is stop the fronts going off automatically in traffic jams etc.. ... - .- -.

ah thats a shame. my front's do go off at traffic jams on my merc, but only when im about to crash into someone - so its still a good thing Smile even in my nissan there was an option to turn them on or off, wonder why they don't give you the option?

This is another reason why I wish there was an access to all these settings, with a return to factory button. I only want the sensors when I want them back and front, like I only want the mirrors to fold when told. All such functions just need a spotty teenager to sort the algorithms, there is no on going cost
Far cheaper than adding bling and a lot more use. letters not necessarily in the right order

Hold down the parking sensor button for circa 5 seconds. The fronts will then come on automatically at low speeds.

Autobiography, thanks for that. I wondered why my second L405 had the sensors on at low speed, the first and current only when button pressed. Is it the same to return from auto?

Do you mean each time you want to use it, or to enable / disable it being automatic when approaching traffic? On mine I can either select it manually by pressing each time (like literally turn it on every journey) or it kicks in once I've been in reverse.

Ideally I want it on all the time - is that possible? Keeping the button pressed in didn't do anything on mine, but I didn't know if you had to be in a certain state first (e.g in park, or on a certain screen on the dash?)

Any help would be great as id love it to work like my merc does

My last L405 had the front sensors on whenever coming to a halt. So no need to press buttons at each start up.

An old thread but I'm very thankful for the advice - my other cars have had automatic front parking sensors so until reading this I thought those on my L322 were broken!
